I have been in this business for about 5 years and I can't believe how much harder it is to make money today then 5 years ago.  Because of all the scammers (Virus and Trojan Installers, Pop Up Hell Sites,  Circle Jerks, Spyware, Spam. and annoying wastes of time for surfers) no one trusts anything or anyone anymore.  I think it is even harder to get someone's email address today then their credit card.  At least with the credit card the surfer has some form of recourse that might get them their money back. i.e. Charge Backs, Stolen Reports, Online Insurance etc. if they feel they got ripped off.  Some surfers also abuse this to get free access.  To try to correct this Credit Card companys have also changed their rules recently that make it even harder to rip someone off with automatic renewals and fraudulent rebills.  Hopefully this will bring things back a little but I would doubt it.  Sponsors with higher than average charge back ratios etc. are penalized for bad ratios and sponsors are forced to do more more in order keep their business going to get the money to cover their massive bandwidth and resources.  I have seen alot of sponsor disappear over the years Hosted Galleries were unheard of 5 years ago and I am sure bandwidth for providing them does not come cheap.

These notes are base on my own experience and can be considered to be my opinion based upon my experience.  I know from talking to other that some sponsors are better to others then to me.  Your experience may also differ from mine.  Please take everything here with a grain of salt.

Rules to Live by

Always target your traffic.  Put Amateur banners and links on sites that have amateur content and links.  Teen on Teen, Lesbian on Lesbian.  Get it!  Search engines like it and so do surfers.

Do not use pop ups, viruses, Trojans, malicious active X controls etc!  Surfer will just close all the sites and or groups INCLUDING your page if they see pop ups or Norton warnings etc..  How can you make money now that your window is closed.  You will also get blacklisted from many sites and search engines and not be able to diddly squat with your domain.

Do not use stolen content, underage, incest, rape, scat or anything crazy content that can get you in trouble.

Do not do link to any sites that do not follow these 3 basic rules.  Don't be guilty by association.  In some countries you get the same punishment as the guilty ones do.
